Trip beyond the Mountains

Untitled

What about 100 paddle spankings if you can spot the shirtless man in the photo above!

This is at Thorpe’s Fruit and Antique Mall (no joke) and the first floor is full of produce, the second and third ones full of ‘antiques’ in the widest sense of the word.

Last weekend we drove out to Eastern Washington to visit The Wife‘s grandparents, which was very nice, even though it was so scorching hot that one could not stand being outside longer than 10 minutes. I don’t take heat very well, as you remember, and even though dry heat is MUCH better than the opposite it still wicks you dry within minutes. 42ºC (108ºF) will do that for ya. Anyway, we visited the family, rode in a combine and a tractor, ate at a gluten-free restaurant, and sat in the car for a looooong time.

Also, I’m always blown away by how different the climate and geography is east of the mountains.
