Yep, that’s how things are right now. In about 10 days or so The Wife will finally be here and then everything and everyone is here on the West Coast. It’s going to be nice to have that closure.
Not too much else going on, looking for work still sucks, but that’s not a surprise, because that kind of thing always sucks. I’ve made it to some interviews and second round things, but nothing panned out so far. One of the best decisions since moving here was starting to go to martial arts classes. It’s a great stress-relief and I — to my own surprise — enjoy being physically pushed like that. I’m not an athlete and while I’m not out of shape, I’ve never ‘worked’ with my body in a coordinated way, so this is completely new to me. It also forces me to be 100% present in the moment and I notice right away that if my thoughts start drifting I start messing up the drill and I have to, I don’t know, re-center myself.
So, yeah, it’s an interesting new thing, working physically in an interactive way that leads to centeredness.
Also: The Legendary Pink Dots are remastering and their catalogue and putting it all up on bandcamp: http://legendarypinkdots1.bandcamp.com/ — good stuff.
Also: American Dave visited for a wedding and we had lunch at a vegan restaurant. That was fun.
