Proust Questionnaire: Ariancita

Following up on my previous post on Proust Questionnaires see below the answers of Ariancita (http://www.foxintree.com/), who updates her blog much less regularly as I’d like. 😉

Your favourite virtue?Generosity.

Your favourite qualities in a man?Sense of humour.

Your favourite qualities in a woman? — Sense of whimsy.

Your favourite occupation?Being independently wealthy where I am free to participate in unicorn dressage competitions, sail on the seas in my whale shaped yacht, and give guest lectures at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Your chief characteristic?Playfulness

Your idea of happiness? — Running on the beach

Your idea of misery?Being poor

Your favourite colour and flower?Pink usually, but lately I’ve been attracted to bright colours such as bright orange, sunshine yellow, vibrant green. Tulips traditionally, but lately have been liking daisies.

If not yourself, who would you be? — Audrey Hepburn, but alive and young 🙂

Where would you like to live?Tuscanny or Paris or London

Your favourite prose authors?So many but to pick two: Pynchon, Nabokov

Your favourite poets?W. H. Auden, Rabindranath Tagore, Robert Burns, Langston Hughes, C. Baudelaire, E. E. Cummings (because sometimes I want my prose to be pretty).

Your favourite painters and composers?Goya, Rothko, Pollock, Vivaldi (he was like the early 90s Madonna of his time!), Mahler, Phillip Glass

Your favourite heroes in real life? I don’t have any heroes or heroines. I think I just don’t like the term because it is packed with so much other meaning. I am especially inspired by Martin Luther King Jr.

Your favourite heroines in real life? — See above.

Your favourite heroes in fiction? — Perhaps you mean protagonists? I don’t like the word heroes. And why separate the genders? My favorite story protagonists are Puck from Midsummer Night’s Dream and Peter Lake from Mark Helprin’s Winters Tale.

Your favourite heroines in fiction? — See above.

Your favourite food and drink? — Petit fours and champagne and tea

Your favourite names? — Etienne, Seren, Lily, Grace

Your pet aversion?Anything depressing, selfishness

What characters in history do you most dislike? — I don’t know any personally but on principle, the usual suspects I suppose.

What is your present state of mind?Hopeful

For what fault have you most toleration?  —  

Your favourite motto? — Great minds think like me.
