Drinking Whiskey

Whisky on Ice

As a German I’ve always been more into beer than into anything else, especially anything stronger than beer. Now, there are some beers that are fucking strong, true, but in Germany it’s rarely more than 5%, give or take. Nothing like some of the IPAs you can get here, which easily can pack 14% or more. The Wife and I have some disagreements about this, but according to her drinking Obst– and Kräuterschnaps is also very common in Germany. I don’t know. Not for me, I guess.

Now, Americans drink beer, but a lot of them are into drinking whiskey, so I thought I’d give it a shot. I tried different kinds with friends and I have to say I kinda dig it. So far I like Scotch more than Bourbon though, I think.

I noticed the people feel very strongly about these things.

Shit’s fucking expensive, too.

  1. So when you are now into the whisky life you have to find ways to save money. Since you are German, I found that in Germany the http://www.spirituosentheke.de had the most competitive prices.
At home I have my local dealer.
My best hint is Oban 14 (smooth) or the Lagavulin. You cannot go wrong with any of them.
